Back in June, Carolyn Benton was kind enough to crochet scarves to auction off for the Dean McCarthy benefit. At that time, the committee decided that it would be best to offer them to the PHCC congregation as Carolyn was a cherished member of our church and the scarves would be most meaningful to us. As such, we will be having a silent auction ending on Sunday, August 31 at 5:00 PM.
The scarves are displayed on the "Cancer Doesn't Care, but PHCC Does!" bulletin board in the narthex. Please have a look and place a bid for your favorite one on the corresponding bidding sheet above the scarves. Bidding starts at $5.00 each and can be made in increments of $.50. Be sure to check the sheets often to ensure that you don’t get out bid.
Please contact Deb Frye if you are in bidding, but cannot get to church.
The next movie night will be held in the sanctuary on Saturday, September 6, 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM. This month’s movie selection is the powerful film God’s Not Dead. Please invite a friend to enjoy the movie with us!
CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP SERVICE
For some people, Sunday mornings are tied up with work, kid’s activities or other commitments making it difficult or nearly impossible to attend a Sunday morning church service. Other people may prefer to worship God in a service filled with praise music.
Our contemporary services are held on the 3rd Friday of every month at 7:30 PM. The next service will be held on Friday, September 19.
Please join us to worship and praise God each Sunday at 10:00 AM.
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. Those who are unable to be in worship and would like to have communion brought to them, are asked to call the church office (457-5484).
SERVICE OF PRAYERS
A time of personal prayer will be offered during worship on the third Sunday of every month. All who desire prayers of thanksgiving and/or intercession for themselves, for one another, for the world, or for the community, are invited to come forward and pray with the elders. Anointing oil is available.
