The PitcherHillCommunityChurch wants all of our brothers and sisters to have the most complete worship experience possible. The problem is, as some of our members are getting older they experience a diminished hearing thus reducing their overall worship experience. To assist and help in this situation the church has twelve hearing monitors that can be used by our members to enhance their worship experience. We call on God every day to help, (I would not do well without my glasses).
So on Sunday why not allow the gift God gives us through these monitors. We all need help and assistance so when you get to service ask the ushers for the monitors so you can better hear what we are doing, and saying. God’s word is for us all.
Are you able? The Volunteer Myth: I'm Not Qualified
In his book on Spiritual Leadership, J. Oswald Sanders wrote: "If redemptive history proves anything, it proves that God does not always use the most qualified people to get the job done. In fact, He does not even always use the most willing (see Jonah). Often times, the most qualified people are the most unwilling to be used by God. God uses both the talented, unwilling servant and the untalented, willing servant to accomplish His ends.
This is why we should be open-minded about where God may be leading us to serve when we pray about where we should serve in His local church. God uses fallen, ill-qualified, unwise laymen to accomplish the most amazing things in His kingdom. Might you be the next weak, ill-prepared, under qualified, imperfect vessel He uses to help raise up the next generation of saints in His local church?"
Often when talking to people about volunteering at church, I hear, "I don't have a background in (fill in the blank)", or "I don't have any experience." Sometimes, fear or lack of confidence can get in the way of following God's call in our life. This is why we should be open-minded about where God may be leading us when we pray about where we should serve in His local church. God uses fallen, ill-qualified, unwise lay-men to accomplish the most amazing things in His kingdom.
But….THERE IS GOOD NEWS! We don't need self-confidence! It is okay to be afraid! Why? Because all God requires is GODfidence!!!
The apostle Paul struggled with feelings of inadequacy and found out that in his very inadequacy God would work through him: "But He said to me: my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2 Corinthians 12:9; in 1 Corinthians 1:27, Paul also had this to say, "But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the mighty."
May I encourage you in one other truth? God often calls us to step out in faith first and then He equips afterward. In other words, if we sense a prompting by the Holy Spirit to serve, and obey God by stepping out, He will equip us. God equips the ones He calls. The Bible is full of "unqualified" people. God took their stories and their lives and molded them for His purposes: Moses, Aaron, Joshua, Joseph, David, Gideon, Deborah, Matthew, Peter, and Luke, to name a few. Then there were the people just like us, the churchgoers— Epaphras, Tychicus, and Onesimus, Priscilla and Aquila. Might God be prompting you to step out on faith and trust Him to be a part of His amazing work?
Contemporary Worship Service
For some people, Sunday mornings are tied up with work, kid’s activities or other commitments making it difficult or nearly impossible to attend a Sunday morning church service. Other people may prefer to worship God in a service filled with praise music.
The first contemporary worship service was well attended and received. We will hold another contemporary service on January 17 at 7:00 PM.
